About us

yoo Energy is looking to further the development of green energy in the UK.

Energy consumption from fossil fuels is not sustainable and without action now our future will be unguarded. With previous developments under our belt both in solar and wind we are ideally placed to develop renewable energy projects. All of us at yoo Energy are looking forward to making a difference to our greener future.

Wind power

Onshore wind decarbonizes energy production, is the cheapest deployable large scale renewable technology, helps support the economy and helps provides for the UK’s current and future energy requirements.

In 2011 onshore wind generated enough power for 2.4 million homes, cost just £6 per household in electricity bill subsidies, supported more than 8,600 jobs and saved more carbon emissions than the footprint of Leeds. The UK renewable energy road map shows that wind turbine capacity could increase by over 150%, a long way to go.

Policy statement

From Department of Energy & Climate Change

“The UK’s electricity supply faces an unprecedented challenge, with around a fifth of existing generation closing over the next decade, and over £100 billion investment needed by 2020 as we look to ensure secure low carbon energy supplies.

No individual technology will provide the silver bullet - our energy mix will have to become increasingly diverse. As part of that mix, onshore wind has an important role to play as one of the most cost-effective and proven renewable energy technologies.”

Further projects

We are working in partnership with a leading aggregates business in the UK, with options agreements on fifteen sites. As funder and developer we plan to erect wind turbines, offsetting part of the onsite power requirements.
